Founded in Japan in 1909, Ajinomoto, the maker of Amino Vital®, was the first to discover and conduct extensive research on amino acids. In the 1950s, this emphasis on amino research culminated in our entry into the pharmaceutical industry. Ajinomoto's development of essential amino acids led to the world's first use of intravenous amino acid therapy in hospitals in 1956.

Today, our customers come from every walk of life - from world champion athletes looking for powerful nutrition to medical staff looking to improve a patient's quality of life. Ajinomoto employs 30,000 dedicated people in 23 countries.
