When you’re working out, you always want to make sure you are doing so safely and effectively. That’s why we wanted to highlight three key dos and don’ts of working out so you can do so in the best possible way for your body.

DO: Hydrate Early and Often

Hydration is an important part of working out. Drinking plenty of water is an important way to avoid cramping up as well as replenishing fluids that you may be losing through sweating. It may be easy to forget to do so, which is why we always recommend filling up your own water bottle before working out and filling it up with aminoVITAL Action before or during your workout, and aminoVITAL Rapid Recovery to replenish your muscle tissue and to relieve muscle soreness after your workout. You want to be sure that you are not chugging water straight through your workout, since that can be counter-intuitive, but it’s always a good idea to sip water while you are working!

DON’T: Work Out the Same Muscle Group Daily

Your muscles don’t build up from the act of working out, they build up during the rest period. That’s why we love our Rapid Recovery supplement, and that’s also why it’s important to take a day or two in-between working out your muscle groups. If Monday you work out your biceps and back, then on Tuesday it would be wise to avoid working out those muscle groups and perhaps focusing on your lower body. It’ll show some love to the other parts of your body while also giving your body time to recover where it needs to.

DO: Make Working Out a Daily Habit

We know how hard it can be to fit it into your daily schedule, but a good workout every day is an exceptional way to keep your mind and body in sync and to keep active and healthy. We covered how to make working out a habit, and that is great advice for anyone. Whether it’s a brief, brisk, walk after work, or some time out of your day specifically to head to the gym, physical activity is important for everyone and it can be a highlight of your day.

DON’T: Do Exercises You Are Unsure of Doing Safely

Working out is best done when it is done safely. One risk in doing exercises wrong is a serious injury. When working out, you want to make sure you are doing only what you know you can do to strengthen your body. That goes for lifting weights that may be too heavy, as well. You may want to lift higher weight for a more effective workout, but lower weights and higher reps are a great way to improve muscle mass as well! There are plenty of ways to do things safely, make sure that you know your own limits.

DO: Set Goals for Yourself

Things are a lot easier when you know what you’re striving for. Whether that’s losing weight, gaining muscle, or simply getting a set amount of time of exercise time per day done, goals are a great way to motivate yourself and center your activity around a certain objective. Keeping yourself motivated through goals is a great way to make sure you go into every workout with a positive mindset and to be ready for whatever lies ahead in that day’s challenges!

DON’T: Get Discouraged

One of the biggest mistakes, especially for beginners, is getting frustrated at a lack of immediate results if you are looking to lose weight or gain muscle. It is important to keep in mind that things take time and working out is a process. Simply getting to the gym or going on that run is, in itself, an accomplishment! Remember not to dwell on the negatives and focus on the positives of your exercise adventure.
